Staff very helpful
Very cramped room not a true western style room

we liked the location, the frienldy and helpful staff, the breakfast provided, the ski room. the rooms were small but value for money, which is what we were looking for. The ski resort, Nozawa Onsen was well run and good for family type skiing. The restaurants and the village itself were very interesting, which is why we chose to goto Nozawa.
A more easily used washing machine would be an improvement.

The owner Miki was very helpful , the lodge was reasonably priced ( a fair bit cheaper than others )-- it was basic but comfy
No English TV channel - but that was about it

Lovely hostess and very simple rooms with tatami mats. We didn't opt for breakfast or the other extras, just there to ski, (the powder is amazing) There are many places to stay in town that are not on the internet. Even in peak season there are far more lodges available than people to fill them thanks to an economic bubble which led to everyone putting up a lodge. If you are on a budget I recommend just turning up and hoping for the best, even in the middle of January there were places galore.

Great value--much better than a comparably priced US hotel. Prime, central location also: only one block from the main village street and across the street from one of the onsen. I would stay there again.
